Coré Cotton is an assistant general counsel in the Enterprise Services Division of the Wells Fargo Law Department. She manages the Contracts and Technology Transactions Section of the Law Department, which provides support for third-party commercial transactions and risk management, regulatory compliance and other areas related to third-party risk.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, and after two years of private practice, Coré toured as a featured vocalist for eight years with the Grammy-winning Sounds of Blackness. She has received numerous accolades and awards including, among others, Grammy awards, gold records and platinum records. She has made numerous television appearances with the Sounds of Blackness and other industry greats. In support of her strong belief in brining one’s “whole self” to work, Coré remains dedicated to both her law and music careers, and continues her passion for the performance of music while practicing law.

Coré is proudly and actively involved in the community and is an enthusiastic champion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the community. She has served on multiple boards of directors including for Trinity Universal Center in Waukegan, IL ; the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir in St. Paul, Minnesota; and KoCo Entertainment, Inc., in Woodbury, MN, which she founded. She has served as ambassador for the Minnesota Law Department as a part of the Minnesota Community Support and United Way Campaign and is currently a member of the Women’s Leadership Council. Coré also currently serves as co-advisor to the Wells Fargo Law Department Diversity and Inclusion Council, and works with the senior leadership of the Law Department to ensure diversity and inclusion remains a part of the overall business strategy of the Law Department. Her professional activities include, among others, participation in the Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and Women, Influence & Power in Law.

Coré received her B.A. degree from Howard University in 1985 and her J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1989. She is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and Illinois, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, the Minnesota Women Lawyers, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the Legal Council on Legal Diversity.
