Healing with Intent: Facilitated discussions on how to process trauma and prepare for the next steps in the fight towards racial justice.
In light of the traumatic, tragic, and senseless of death of George Floyd, TCDIP is offering space for people to come together with the help of trained facilitators. We continue to send our condolences to Mr. Floyd’s family, friends, and loved ones. We also acknowledge the trauma and pain associated with the events following Mr. Floyd’s death.
We care deeply about you and your wellbeing. That is why, in the coming weeks, we are offering space for processing the events that have taken place. Abdul M. Omari, PhD in partnership with Jamil Stamschror-Lott will facilitate the conversations. To be clear, this is not a training or scripted presentation. Instead, we aim to provide a safe, welcoming, and open space for us to dialogue, listen, and process together. The programs will have a special focus on supporting Black and people of color who work in predominately white spaces. The program will also focus on helping white allies understand the nature of the trauma that is felt by the community of color in times like these.
Register for one of the sessions using the links below. All legal professionals and law students are welcome to join. Please note that to facilitate these discussions, sessions are limited to 25 participants each. Also note that some sessions are open to specific audiences based on self-identification.
