From Our Outgoing Board Members: Kathy Noecker
We’ve asked our outgoing Board Members to share their reflections about TCDIP’s impact on their careers and organizations. Kathy Noecker has served as a Board Member and most recently as our Board Co-Chair. Our deepest gratitude to Kathy for her commitment to TCDIP’s mission to attract, recruit, advance, and retain attorneys of color.

What have you changed about your approach to diversity and inclusion as a result of your involvement with TCDIP?
Two things – intentionality and individual connections. I have a greater awareness today of their importance in building an inclusive environment, thanks to the great programming that TCDIP provides and the example of other leaders I’ve observed during my time on the board. I still have work to do and things to learn, but there is no question that TCDIP has helped me do a better job putting “diversity in practice”.
What is your favorite TCDIP event or program, and why?
Emerging Leaders Group! These lawyers are our future in the Twin Cities and will change our industry and community for the better. The energy, compassion, and authenticity they bring to their own professional development, support of colleagues (including competitors), and desire to give back is an inspiration and bodes well for this legal community.
When you think about TCDIP’s future, what are you looking forward to seeing?
TCDIP has always been innovative and forward-looking in its approach. I look forward to this innovation continue and sparking deeper engagement across our member organizations, leading to better experiences for diverse lawyers and better results in attracting and retaining diverse lawyers.
Why is diversity and inclusion important?
We’re all better lawyers and serve clients more effectively when we listen to and take into account multiple diverse perspectives.
